Friday 8th, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September 2017.
Please note: After Zoe Martin's description of the weekend, there are 2 downloadable Booking Forms and a Guide to filling them out.
Hello Members, I look forward to welcoming you to the September 2017 BoA Weekend.
On Friday 8th Sept, the gates will be open from 6:30pm for campers. Please note, even if you arrive early, you will NOT be allowed through the gate. The car park that we have the privilege of using is owned by Anthony Best Dynamics and is in working use by them until 6:30pm. Those bringing vehicles may park in any of the three designated car parks but must display parking permits at all times. Once you’ve set up camp, The Swan Pub in the town is normally where Moultoneers gather in the evening for meals and drinks.
On Saturday 9th Sept, the gates will open at 9:30am and your entry to the Bring & Buy Sale is included in your ticket price whether a day visitor or camper. The Bring and Buy Sale is open for sellers to set up at 9am and officially starts at 9:30am and closes at 12.00.
Sellers have been asked not to trade until 9:30am so please respect this.
This year there will be a Members' Forum which will take place in the Club Marquee between 1 and 2pm. Please feel free to use this as an opportunity to meet the committee and share constructive views about the running of the MBC.
As last year, there will be a raffle and tickets can be purchased throughout the day from several locations still to be decided. Raffle prizes donated will be most welcome as this draw helps the MBC to cover our donation to The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust for the use of The Hall Grounds. The time for drawing the raffle will commence after the Courtyard gathering at roughly 4pm. The theme for this year is 1967 Flower Power/Sgt. Pepper, so please dress the part and bring along bicycles to celebrate.
We hope to hold a Concours event again, featuring the best original, preserved or modified Moultons; all entries welcome. There will be an afternoon refreshment stall with homemade cakes and hot/cold drinks. Any further details will be posted either on The MBC Website, Facebook or Yahoo pages.
There will be an evening buffet, taking place at St Margarets Hall, in Bradford on Avon. A bar is provided at this venue so please support it and don’t bring any alcohol, as it is not permitted there. There is limited car parking at St Margarets Hall so I would advise against bringing your vehicle. The barbecue facility will be in The Hall grounds as usual where you can cook your own food and sit under the stars. As always, there will be loos and showers provided and the club marquee for shelter. The company providing the loos and showers will be making a visit on Saturday to ensure the water supply is working and facilities are operating.
We plan to hold three rides on Sunday morning; the fast long ride, the medium ride and the family canal ride. The times and details will also be posted online and on entry to BoA. After the rides, many people congregate in the Swan Pub. I would be grateful if campers vacate The Hall Grounds by 4:30pm on Sunday and be responsible for clearing any rubbish. Can I ask that we are all extra careful with the parking areas and respect the Hall grounds and any equipment used. To make the job easier of the BoA helpers and security, please wear your wristbands at all times, display parking and camping permits at all times and have dinner tickets ready for the evening buffet. If you are qualified in First Aid, please tell me as we would like to ensure all the Sunday rides have cover. Any help with clearing rubbish on Sunday would be much appreciated.
Most importantly, I want everyone to enjoy this weekend with their special Moultons.
See you there!
