    Hi,
can anybody show me the reverse threaded allen key screw that winds out to join the front and rear frames. I need to know what size it is and how tight it show be tightened ? The one I have has a worn thread and it has two locking nuts that seem to have been bodged.

Any photos much appreciated, rgds Will.

I’ve found out what it is :

M8 Left Handed Thread with two locking nuts and an Allen Screw Head. The inner thread is a steel insert held in with a locating grub screw.

Just fabricated one up and the frame is now held together nice and firm. Not sure how tight I should tighten it still – Does it matter ?

You have the Allen key from the little caddy on the bike frame. I would tighten it quite firmly but not going “over the top” if you see what I mean.

    Thanks very much Keith,

That’s what I assumed in the end, but it’s nice to have it confirmed.
