  1. I have a general question if you can for me, thanks! I have a Moulton Stowaway I’m guessing from 1962-63. My father was a fighter pilot and I received the bike from a guy that was acquainted with my father back around 1965 as a Christmas present. How can I id the year it was made? I was trying to locate the serial numbers, I know it is still original with no additions or updates.

Any help in these regards would be great, I’m trying to move again and didn’t want anything to happen to it. I haven’t rode the bike in about 40 years:0

  2. You can work out the year from the side of the frame on the seat tube, just below the saddle. On one side will be a serial number, on the other the year. For instance mine is stamped K65. This indicates it was made in Kirby in 1965. If there is no K, just a year, it indicates a Bradford on Avon built machine. These are much less common, but as you possibly have quite an early model it might be the case. The serial number can be deciphered to tell you the week it was made, but I forget how.
