Michael Woolf Memorial Flyte

Unique Moulton “MW Flyte” unveiled at the 50th Anniversary meeting of the Moulton Bicycle Club.

The Moulton Bicycle Company and Moulton Bicycle Club are pleased to announce the release of a UNIQUE model in memory of Michael Woolf, founder of Moulton Preservation and the guiding heartbeat of the Moulton Bicycle Club for many of its early years.

Moulton was asked by the Moulton Bicycle Club to create a one-off bicycle to celebrate Michael’s life and in particular his devotion to preserving and supporting owners of early “F – frame” Moulton bicycles.

The Company chose its Flyte model as the basis for the work, as this model sits between the era of the 1960s “F – frame” models and the “spaceframe” models that Moulton makes today.

The frame has received a special “variegated gold patina” finish – meticulously applied by hand – to represent both Michael’s colourful and warm personality, and the restoration work he undertook.

The components have been specially selected to give a “retro” feel, with the Alfine hub gear being matched with a ‘Century crankset’ and drop handlebar equipped with a set of Versa shifters. The finishing touch is the addition of one of the last AM branded B17 saddles that Moulton has in its possession.

The “MW Flyte” was shown for the first time on 16 August 2025 at the Moulton Bicycle Club’s 50th Anniversary meeting at The Hall Eestate, Bradford on Avon. As a touching gesture, some members of the Club have worked alongside Moulton bicycle employees to add the final details to this very special bicycle.

The “MW Flyte” is to be auctioned raffled to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity at the request of Michael’s partner Zoe. Further details to come....
