Bob MacQueenParticipantI changed my method of viewing this group from emails to visiting the website when i went away to cut down on the number of emails i had to download.
On my return I find that there has been a total makeover of the groups and it seems not to the good!
Can anyone point me in the right direction to reinstate the email delivery? I cant find anyway to do it.
all the best

ParticipantThe site hasn’t been working for me for several days. Perhaps they’re redesigning it again after receiving so many complaints about the new design.
If so, they’re certainly taking their time.

IanMemberGo to Yahoo Groups, find ‘Manage My Groups’ on the left hand side.
Click that should have a list of all the Yahoo groups you have signed up to.
On the right at the top there is a ‘Edit Groups’ button. Click that and change the settings for moultonbicycle and then click ‘Save’ (also on the top right).
Should resolve it.

ParticipantThanks Ian. I had to sign in and it wasn’t initially clear how to do this. Now sorted.

Bob MacQueenParticipantThanks Ian that might work if I could locate the ” manage my groups” menu! It’s nowhere to be seen. All I get is the three groups I belong to with their latest messages and if I tap the menu logo there is no manage groups 🙁

IanMemberIs it in the column on left of this page?
September 13, 2013 at 9:07 am #3881
Bob MacQueenParticipantThanks Ian – it wasn’t on that page but somehow after following a couple of links and signing in twice i discovered a page with the necessary menu!
Should now receive individual messages again.
goodness knows what Yahoo have done to what was a simple site to navigate. No idea if using a Mac has anything to do with the problems.September 18, 2013 at 9:36 am #3882Alexander Johnston
ParticipantI’ve given up on the Yahoo site. Every time I try and log on I have to re-register by filling in my details including my mobile phone number. I don’t want them to have my mobile number, thank you very much, so I’m leaving.

ParticipantI always sign in by just clicking that I want to sign in using my Google account. I’m always already signed into that, so it’s one click and I’m in.
I have had issues in the past however with being unable to view beyond a certain number of older threads. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was behind that. I think I just gave up.

IanMemberIt is awful to use in a browser, just about bearable via email.
Perhaps a migration to Google groups?

MemberHi! Help! Suddenly this afternoon the whole format of the Moulton Yahoo Group has changed! It is now totally unusable. Does anyone have any idea how to get back to the original site format?
September 24, 2013 at 7:55 am #3886
IanMemberWilliam, you look to have caught up with the dire Yahoo changes. There is, as far as I know, no way to go back. It does do what it used to do, but less well and is clunky and slow while doing it!
Welcome to the future, where things don’t work as well as they used to! 😉

Tom WardParticipantUgh, Yahoo has never been pretty. Anyone remember Geocities??. Yeuck.

MemberHi! This looks like the end of the Moulton Yahoo Group, (almost) no messages are being posted there any longer. It is a great pity as the site was a well-functioning meeting place for Moulton enthusiasts from all over the world, whether they are MBC members or not. Also the large file of previous messages contaning a great amount of Moulton information seems to be lost, not to mention the useful list of links. The way the Yahoo List is set up now I can’t see how to even read messages, let alone write one !

ParticipantThe idea of online “groups” and “lists” is pretty archaic. There should be a Moulton discussion board using vBulletin, or an equivalent, as its platform. A plus would be the use of wiki software to organize information gleaned from the discussions into, essentially, a definitive Moulton encyclopedia. It is far, far too difficult to find reliable information about these bicycles. Even the dealers I’ve spoken with, in America, are fairly clueless.

MemberHi! For a short time this morning (Tues 1/10) the ‘old’ format returned just long enough for me to post a message about it, then it reverted to the ‘new’
unuseable format again! What’s going on?October 6, 2013 at 5:30 pm #3891Alexander Johnston
ParticipantThe loss of the “Moulton Archive” on that appalling Yahoo site is most regrettable to say the least.
When I tried to log it I was asked to register even though I’d been a member for several years.
Then when I tried to register they asked for my mobile number which I initially refused to divulge.
I eventually overcame my qualms and decided to offer my mobile number.
Then when I completed their ghastly on-line form I was told that I couldn’t join because I was already a member!
I felt like Captain John Yossarian in Catch 22.

MemberHi! I’m not able to find out how to reply to messages on the new disasterously re-vamped Yahoo Group. How does one do this? I’ve tried the REPLY icon but this doesn’t work for me. Any ideas?

IanMemberYou got a blank page (twice) earlier so you are nearly there! I’ve found it sort of works bet for me if I use my email to send the message to Yahoo groups. It’s still pants though.
