kenneth buttterfieldMemberAs this is the anniversary of the introduction of the Moulton bicycle, the F frame seems a natural choice for the September event?
Hopefully your favourite on this special occasion?

kenneth buttterfieldMemberHow big is your car?…My JAZZ has room for lots, but I dont’ want to damage them, any ideas for packing?
July 22, 2012 at 11:07 am #3397
john bartlettParticipantI have had seven moultons in my roomster but two of them were only framesets…..with that many you only need a few old blankets.
jbJuly 22, 2012 at 9:01 pm #3398
kenneth buttterfieldMemberI hate all that paint damage when lying on top of each other…pedals off and lots of packing I think?
July 23, 2012 at 9:45 am #3399
Matthew DunnParticipantI’m guessing you’ll be bringing your new toy Ken! : O ) Lots and lots of packaging for that little beauty!
It’s a hard life isn’t it John? : O ) I’m looking forward to seeing which ones you bring; your latest one in orange would be interesting to see in the flesh.

john bartlettParticipantI thought the orange one, the yellow 5 speed and one of the mk3 bikes….either the 3×7 with Steve Mundie modified rear triangle or the blue single speed scorcher

Anwar RahimParticipantKen,
That S Speed is wonderful! We only have two f-frames so our choice is easy!

kenneth buttterfieldMemberThanks Anwar The bike will be there, and it has not been seen at BoA since around 1994!

ParticipantI won’t be coming this year I’m afraid, but be prepared to be astounded in 2013 when I bring my Major and my daughter’s Super 4.

ParticipantWell, I was intending to go with my 1963 F frame, but when the Magazine arrived yesterday morning with article requesting a cheque for prepayment all is awry. I don’t ‘do’ cheques. (they are being phased out remember)
Anything wrong with Paypal? Which is immediate and although it contains a supplement (3%?) I wouldn’t mind paying 3% extra for the convenience.Get with it organisers…..
Just a thought.John.

Matthew DunnParticipantHi John,
Unfortunately Arthur isn’t really set up to use PayPal. I’m not able to write cheques either so I sent mine as cash in the post and all was well.
It’s going to be a great event, possibly the best for some years with two bike launches and a significant anniversary to celebrate.

Ian SpencerMemberI can’t wait! I have my flights and B&B arrangements all set and ready to go. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and see all of your bikes! Unfortunately, I won’t be bringing one of mine, but I’ll have pictures. See you all in a few days! – Ian

IanMemberMatt, ‘2 bike launches’?
So, one is sure to be the AM with 20″ wheels ‘Jubilee’ – as briefly linked to on Fudges recently (but since redirected to the generic MBC webpage) but there is another?
Another collection of previously seen parts assembled in a different order or a ‘new’ frame?

1962 -2012 the Golden anniversary of our favourite bikes, the club has asked for the early “narrow bellows” bikes to make an appearance, not heard of this distinguishing feature before now,Can anyone supply some information on this aspect of the bike?

ParticipantMatt, “2 bike launches”?
Are you beginning to work the crowd?
AlexSeptember 5, 2012 at 10:45 am #3416
Matthew DunnParticipantI think I’ve said too much already although there has been mention of it on the Yahoo! list.
If you’re checking your email while you’re away I’ll keep you up to date, I’m sure Steven will have some pics to share too.

ParticipantBelated thanks Matt.
Bit late for me now with everything underway, but maybe next year is the best time to take my 63 F Frame anyway. 50 years is a major mile-post after all: )

ParticipantJust a reply to thank the club members who organised and ran the event, I arrived at about 1130am Saturday and left at around 6pm, enjoyed my stay very much, we Moulton riders are a friendly sociable lot!
I had the pleasure of meeting Doctor Moulton when caught in the act of window-gazing the demonstator AM and NS machines, he signed my copy of his memoir with charm and humour, so sad that Dr Moulton was not feeling well in the afternoon. on my bookshelf his memoirs now lie between those of Sir Stanley Hooker of Jet engine fame and a history of Sentinel of Shrewsbury.
If you do not have a copy then I strongly recommend you should find one, a delightful read, so many anecdotes and the diversity of his life as a creator and engineer
best wishes to all members.
